Pediatric Ultrasound

Ultrasounds can be used for pediatric patients to help examine the head, chest, spine, hips/joints, reproductive, and urinary systems. A pediatric abdominal ultrasound is very common. An abdominal ultrasound for children is commonly associated with frequent vomiting in children and infants, swollen belly, traumatic abdominal injuries, and abdominal pains.

What is the advantage of getting an ultrasound for my child?

It’s a great diagnostic tool because there is no radiation exposure, unlike X-rays, and no need for sedation or general anesthesia.
